35th International Symposium on Pediatric Surgical Research

Welcome Message

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the International Symposium on Paediatric Surgical Research, it is a pleasure to invite you to the 35th International Symposium on Paediatric Surgical Research( ISPSR ) which will take place at the Osaka International Conference Centre, Osaka, Japan from 21-23 October, 2022. Due to the global Covid-19 pandemic and resulting travel restrictions , the 33rd and 34th International Symposium on Paediatric Surgical Research (ISPSR) were held online. We are delighted that after a lapse of two years we again have the opportunity to meet face to face in Osaka.

Over the years, the International Symposium on Paediatric Surgical Research has become a global research forum for presenting high quality research. The first day of the Meeting will be devoted to Keynote lectures on relevant clinical topics in pediatric surgery by world experts and the other two days to research and innovations in pediatric surgery. The 35th International Symposium on Pediatric Surgical Research in Osaka will provide an unique opportunity for young pediatric surgeons and research fellows to present their clinical and laboratory research.

Osaka is the metropolis of the Kansai region and is the second largest metropolitan area in Japan, with a population of 9 million people. It has historically developed as a town of merchants and has also been called “the nation’s kitchen”. Osaka is gourmet city, and has long identified itself by kuidaore ("ruinous eating") as opposed to Kyoto's kidaore ("ruinous dressing"). There is an old saying that Osaka people are financially ruined by spending too much on food. Neighboring Osaka, Nara and Kyoto are the birthplaces of Japan’s politics and culture. Nara was Japan’s first permanent capital, and for this reason, it’s home to scores of temples, shrines, and a park with a 15-foot high golden Buddha statue
In the 8th century, the capital moved to Kyoto. Since then, despite being taunted by history, Kyoto was the capital of Japan until the late 19th century when the capital was moved to Tokyo. Therefore, Kyoto is called an “Ancient capital for a thousand years”. Kyoto is considered the cultural capital of Japan and a major tourist destination. It is home to numerous Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, palaces and gardens, some of which are listed collectively by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

So please join us for the International Symposium on Paediatric Surgical Research in Osaka and let’s all make this a unique and memorable conference.
